Biography

Deana Hildebrand is a professor and Extension State Specialist in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Oklahoma State University. Her expertise is in the areas of community and public health nutrition; nutrition policy, systems, and environments; school and childcare nutrition programs; and nutrition education.

Hildebrand's translational research work has been widely recognized, receiving the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences’ School Wellness Award in 2022 and the Jeanne M. Priester Award for Outstanding Innovative Program: Cooking for Kids in 2019. She was awarded the Outstanding Community Engagement Award in the OSU College of Human Sciences in 2021 and 2018.

Excellence in instruction and advising is evident in her recognition as Outstanding Advisor Award in the Oklahoma State University College of Human Sciences in 2017.  Other honors include nomination for the Regents' Distinguished Teaching Award in 2018 and as the 2018 nominee for Outstanding Graduate Faculty Mentor Award.

Hildebrand's passion for the land-grant mission was recognized by award of the Sternberg Award for Excellence in Advancing the Land Grant Mission in 2013. OSU also honored her as the 2018 nominee for the Sternberg Award for Excellence in Advancing the Land Grant Mission.
